I Just Want Good Skin

#66 - Skin Edit - Aqulabo [Review]

Let me begin with an apology, because how long has it been since I’ve written a post? Unfortunately life gets in the way and being hit with a flu that is lasting over 2 weeks isn’t ideal. But here we go, I am now sitting in the kitchen because the hubs is doing a late night shooting in the next room, which ironically gives me some time to actually sit down and type this up.

I’ve also just typed up the whole blog post but the whole thing was gone when I accidentally tapped outside of the square… God help me.

So here we go (again).

I’ve been kindly gifted by Aqulabo for this set - I honestly cannot thank them enough and officially in love with the brand.

The What:

Jelly Mist: a mist that is actually jelly - who would have thought? This mist is gel to liquid, so when you use it/spray it, it actually comes out as mist. This product is packed with different amino acids and ceremides to help strengthen the skin barrier and maintain moisture. Also contains a magnolia berry extract that calms the skin and help combat environmental stress/

Oh! Very Bright Sheet Masks: These sheet masks focuses on brightening, loaded with niacinamide, centella asiatica, and licorice root extract, plus the magnolia berry extract as with the jelly mist. All good stuff to brighten skin tone and improve skin texture over time.

The Thoughts:

Jelly Mist: This is truly one of the best mists I’ve used so far. I don’t have a misting habit and jelly mist makes me want to have one. It’s such a soothing and comfortable product to use on your skin, especially during the hotter months with hotter weather. It’s cool as well so the skin just feels great instantly. I’ve used this on a shoot as prep/toner for the model as an extra step to hydrate and it helps!

They suggest to use this before the mask as well as a combo to boost the effacacy - if you don’t layer like 3 different serums before masking like I do then this is a good idea. You’ll get the hydrating properties along with the brightening. The ingredients complement one another so it works as a combo.

I personally like this on its own only because I have a different set of routine for masking. The smaller spray is perfect for travel or just to put in your hand bag.

I wish these came with refills you know. It is plastic at the end of the day and if there is a refill pack to buy it’s high on the consideration list. It’s also a really unique mist product I feel - I wasn’t 100% convinced at first but this was love at first use.

Oh! Very Bright Sheet Masks: I’m just going to put this out there, but the lighting I have at home is really poor. It’s hard for me to discern if my skin is”brightened” but I could definitely see a more even skin tone after first use. Niacinamide is by far my favourite ingredient to use for brightening - it works over time and great for acne prone skin This not only brightens, but also hydrates and help protect the skin barrier.

The mask fits to the skin well and the sheet is packed with product. It’s a pleasure to use and delivers hydration well into the skin.

And the packaging is shiny. It’s pretty.

The Conclusion

I think Aqulabo has done well on both these products. The jelly mist stands out for me whereas with the sheet mask there are a lot of other sheet masks that are made of similar ingredients (but not formulation), however it is still pretty high up on my “would purchase” list just because it’s so lovely to use.

Jelly Mist makes me want to have a misting habit. Truly, that’s how much I love using this. Unfortunately my job is pretty full on so misting isn’t exactly on the highest priority - that should change. She says, thinking about the existing bottle of mist sat on the desk.
